TIL that a loose wire in a 240V dryer outlet can easily burn your house down without tripping a breaker

Narrowly avoided disaster, but all’s fine now. The wires in this socket had been loose for two years, since we had some remodeling done, before vibration from the dryer finally shook them loose. Just happened to be there when it arced and started burning.
